Anyone watch Space Force? Not the funniest thing I ever saw but how can you not enjoy Steve Carrel and John Malkovich.

Yes. The characters were interesting. The story was just silly of course.

FX is having a marathon of Atlanta which even though I’ve adored this show from the beginning rewatching it now makes me appreciate how freaking smart it is, I feel like I’m watching it with new eyes and it’s honestly the best show on tv, cannot recommend it enough.

Watched Trotsky on Netflix.  Good acting. It’s been panned here by critics who view it as a Putin propaganda piece. Maybe so.  But Trotsky and Lenin and Stalin all come across as terrible.  I don’t think that’s far from the truth.  I didn’t think the anti Semitism in the series was glorified in any way.

Finally got around to watching “when they see us”  about the Central Park 5 on Netflix. It’s fantastic, but very difficult to watch. I highly recommend.

I am sick & tired of "Safe Drivers Save 40%".  It's enough to keep me from ever looking into AllState for insurance.

Insurance commercials are the worst.  And there are just so many of them.

Insurance commercials are the worst.  And there are just so many of them.
It is a form of captive market*. State governments require you to have the product, so there is a large market of consumers to tap, but the typical driver doesn't look further than the state minimum coverage with maybe a bell or whistle or two, so there is little to differentiate the products. The products are also subject to state regulation, further narrowing the range of choices. So outside of a few ads touting various bells and whistles like phone apps, insurance ads generally focus on branding, wanting you to view the company favorably rather than the product. The "drivers who switched saved X" ads are particularly annoying, since drivers rarely switch to pay more, so that is pretty much true for all companies.

* I am not an economist, but my understanding is that in a true captive market there is a limited choice of suppliers. Here, there are lots of suppliers, but not much difference in the product and heavy state regulation.

Also, they advertise heavily because they know that once they get someone to sign up with them, it’s unlikely they will ever change.

Watching a show on CNN tonight concerning the "Gig Economy".  I see it alot more here in OBX than I did when living in the DC area, for there isn't the large organizations here in OBX.  But I'm sure this economy is just as prevalent in a city like DC.  It shows why health insurance, Social Security, and Medicare is needed.

Just started watching “Line of Duty” on Amazon. It’s a British crime drama. It’s absolutely fantastic.

Yeah, but they have a weird rule set. Whoever scores the most points doesn’t always win.

I got a Apple TV box which I highly recommend. It really makes the new 65 inch TV I had mounted over the fireplace shine.
