Jon Stewart is leaving the daily show later this year. :(

I heard 'em talkin' about that earlier in the evening on CNN.    Check this   ...   someone speculated that since Stewart and Brian Williams are "friends",  Williams might take over the "Daily Show".    Of course, NBC probably has a no compete clause but that would put network news in its proper perspective.     :mg:

Better Call Saul premiere was awesome.

I'm really liking Larry Wilmore's show.

I would be if I hadn't watched like 100 of them already.
And if I had cable.

QI is the best.

They're at least starting with the new "J" series.

Quote
QI (Quite Interesting) is a British comedy panel game television quiz show created and co-produced by John Lloyd, hosted by Stephen Fry, and featuring permanent panellist Alan Davies.

Basically a comedy game show that interesting facts are talked about.  I love it.

Antenna TV. 201 on my comcast. Caught George Burns on the Burns and Allen show the other morning. Didn't recall this but he talks to the camera between scenes. Technique copied by many a more recent show.

Tomorrow is the 40th birthday of Saturday Night Live.  They've been running episodes constantly on the VHS network.  Great stuff.

Me too, the rundown of political impersonations through the years just now was great.

I vaguely remember the Belushi spot visiting the graves.  Maybe it is is a Brian Williams sort of memory, suggested enough to make me think it happened, but it was a pretty decent way to start the necrology.  I also loved ending that with mentioning the late breaking news about Franco.

Simon and McCartney cannot sing in a theatre anymore.  They can do studio work that touches up the voices, and I guess Sir Paul can do big stadiums where sound quality does not matter, but their voices are shot.  Miley Cyrus actually did a respectable job with 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.

"Who Reads" in celebrity Jeopardy was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

You know what I wish would get re-done? The Sharpe series that used to air on History Channel from time to time. Good made for TV movie.
