Rendon seems almost certain now to top Bryce's AAV.  Who'da thunk it?!

Yes, because RBIs are a reasonable measurement of a player's performance

They better not freak out and give an above average 3B a massive contract to make up for Bryce. I'd rather have Bryce for 13 than Rendon for 7/8.

respectfully, i disagree.  Or, I at least disagree at $25MM and small  change per year.  I would rather have Rendon for 7 years, $180MM.  I don't want the out years on Bryce's contract and I think Rendon's performance over the last 3 years has been better than Bryce's.  My expectation is that will continue.  Rendon's game is not boom-bust.  Both have disturbing injury history, so this "Rendon is injury prone" stuff is a wash when you compare it to Bryce.

"Above average " :lmao:

Rendon is sixth in WAR from 2014 until present. That includes half an injury plagued season in 2015.

Anthony Rendon is the best position player in the division.

:lmao: "above average"

Seriously...everyone knows that above average is not good...

I don't know if Ant'ny is the best position player in the Division, but he's good enough for me...

You guys continue to believe that....wait til he strikes out to lose the game in the Wild Card and he turns around and just smirks at the camera as the Rockies storm the mound.

Be sure to save this one y'all.

Desi pimping that sub .500 postseason OPS

Murphy has hit .282/.408/.385 since his magical postseason run with New York. Not exactly elite.

Oh okay. I mean, why try and sign anyone then? We should just become the Marlins, I guess.

No. We should have bought out Zimm and signed Murphy to play 1B. He was what we needed in the clubhouse with or without Parker. Was that his name?

If you are going to rag on Rendon's postseason performances, the poor concentration error against the Cubs that undid Strasburg, the game, and the series should be your ammo.....   https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2017/10/07/rendon-makes-key-error-nats-unravel-in-6th-inning-vs-cubs/106403370/

Nevermind that the Nationals didnt score any runs. Its Rendon's fault for grinning too much

How many home grown players has Rizzo signed past their team control years?   Zimmerman and Strasburg are the only ones I can think of.   It seems like Rizzo prefers shopping around for all the FA options vs falling into the trap of falling in love with your own players and doesn't like to pay team controlled guys more than he has to.  Having so many of them repped by Boras doesn't help either though.   I guess he only stays if he makes it known he'll take a home town discount or shorter term than he could get as a FA.

Rendon is a gold glove caliber third baseman who has been as good a hitter as anybody on the team without drama. Gotta sign him to a 5 or 6 year extension.

Not if there is cheaper alternative coming up that's just as good.
