What's lost in all that was a great relay by Desmond and Ramos actually catching the freaking ball.

Hard to appreciate the small stuff after they, y'know, blow the freaking game.

At least if the Nats lose they have a good excuse to blow up this crappy bullpen.

Bullpen?    How 'bout the offense?

Can't take much solace in that since offenses take a long time to build. :?

The fact that Storen hadn't pitched in a week didn't cross Williams' mind at all?

I don't know. Posey hit the ball hard off him a couple times.
He got lucky and slung one in there. Grooved one to Sandoval
Either way, you gotta give Zimmermann the chance to finish that game.  He deserved it.  I would rather lose with him on the mound after he gave us everything he had.

3rd   Anthony "Hitman" Rendon singled to left, Asdrubal Cabrera scored.
9th   P Sandoval doubled to left, J Panik scored, B Posey thrown out at home.
                  San Francisco Giants    1
  Washington Nationals 1

Ramos throwing his bat was symbolic of Williams throwing away this game.

No, you don't.  This isn't about stats. It was about winning the game. JZ had just given up three hard hit balls that required three good plays. He was DONE. We struggled to find a closer all season and Storen had it locked down. He starts the 9th, the Nats win.

Very poetic, but we are still going to win this game.
