I don't get it. Does Matt really want to start the NLCS in LA?

Put the A lineup in tomorrow afternoon?  Win that game, and nothing left to play for and start resting whoever.

As impressive as the 10-0 run was, we've pulled off a 14-4 run since losing 2 to the Phillies at home at the start of the month.  That's where the best record shot was built.

Super impressive. When he's on he might be the Ace of the staff, nigh unhittable

That's not the record I'm looking at. No team in the history of this franchise has won more than five games in the postseason, and only one team in Washington baseball history has won more than three, including 2012.

That's the record I'd like to pass, and I want to get this magic number business over with quickly so we can start worrying about the playoffs.

Some commentator on the Washington Post message board (who clearly sees Bryce Harper as a Yankee-in-waiting rather than an Nat) was complaining about Harper's inability/unwillingness to run to first base, and his refusal to hit the cut-off man. I have to be honest---I didn't watch both games from start to finish, and there was a lot a missed. Is there a problem with Harper running to first? I have seen Harper try to throw the lead runner out instead of hitting the cutoff man, and that COULD be a problem in the playoffs. Does anybody think MW should talk to Harper about this?

Yes...and Matty has...publically, and privately as we understand it.

Agreed that running balls out to first base hard is still an issue. Makes you wonder if that knee really feels as great as he states. He goes up there trying to hit a home run every at bat.

Defensively though I've been happy with his decisionmaking and effort, so who knows what's going on.
