Pretty crazy that a  2.85 15-10 pitcher is probably not going to get serious consideration for our playoff rotation.

Could also be the Cards...
Maybe.  But Pittsburgh and the Giants have big splits.

thinking it depends on whether it is the SF Large People or the Pittsburgh Economically Oppressed Sailing People as our opponents.  Big

splits.

I don't think it depends anymore.  I think it's settled.

Gio's making a strong claim for a starter job in the playoffs.

I'm good with that.  Let Roark go to the pen and kick an underperforming reliever to the side.

Hmm. If only there was an underperforming reliever to kick aside. I can't seem to think of anybody. Say, what about that guy who keeps pulling his shirttail out?

Remind me what they are?  One of the teams crushes lefties, one doesn't?

Rendon is so old school. Rubbing spit and dirt on his owie.

Bunt, steal, makes the game look easy.  He's about to score another run, trying to catch Trout.

After the way Blevins pitched this morning, I'd be inclined to agree.

my biggest issue with Roark out of the pen is that he doesn't have dominant stuff. Gio could give you 2 innings of dominant middle relief if a starter wobbles, Roark I'm not so sure can come up with the chips down or with inherited runners and save the day - not a knock on Tanner but just a thought

SF hits lefties, Pittsburgh righties.  lefties makes pittsburgh's offense below average.

The only possible way I see any benefit to having Soriano on the roster is  if Storen completely melts down or gets hurt, and hope that a rest has returned Soriano to early season form.  Otherwise I can't see a role for him.

I don't agree.  He is very effective.  Effective trumps dominance.  He will get the job done.

If Storen gets hurt we can call someone in who was left off.

It'd actually be good if the Cards and Bucs tie after Sunday, which means they'd play at StL Monday to decide the NL Central winner.  It's likely mess with their rotation schedule for Game 1.

Good point.  But yeah.

I'd also keep Zimmerman over Hairston.  (Duh)
