If the Pirates don't overtake the Cardinals and we clinch the NL best record, the NLDS will either be a rematch of the 1924/1933 World Series or the 1925 World Series.

(This of course overlooks the fact that technically, neither of those teams played this franchise, which didn't exist in those years.)

Follow the franchise not the city.  Always.

Only if you're from Canada.

I respect people from Montreal who continue to follow the franchise. For their sake, a book about the Nats would also include the Expos. But as far as I'm concerned baseball history stays IN the city where it was played. That's why I am furious at Dan Snyder for changing the anniversaries the Redskins used to mark from 1937 to 1932. As far as I'm concerned, the only history of that team which counts are the years they spent in Washington---not the five previous years in Boston.

(Also, my late father was born in 1937 so I have reason to be nostalgic about that particular year. It was also the year Washington hosted its first All-Star Game.)
