Forget Strasburg.  He's expendable.  We have Tanner Roark.

What about Zimmerman at 2nd base ?

:lmao:

Zimmerman to third base if that's what it takes to get both in the lineup. These things work themselves out. See this entire year.

The fanbois always show themselves.

FP just said Span is out of the game but he said nothing about the gout.  You guys are pulling my leg.

If anything I'm a LaRoche fanboy. I have no illusions that Zimmerman could play a good third base. I just think it makes for the best team.

Gout is hard to diagnose for broadcasters, but we have some experts on the board

The other option is to let Span walk but that would be stupid.

I guess he can't walk right now, he has a wicked case of the gout.

Or Zimmerman the $100 million bench player. That wouldn't be stupid.

Quick question: If LaRoche leaves after this year is there any way the Nats get a pick?

I think it's academic that Laroche will walk.

If we win this one and the Braves lose we'll be 16.5 games up in the division.  Just unbelievable.

Why be shortsighted with a championship-level team? There is no cavalry in the minor leagues for the infield

It may very well be a mistake but I just feel that's the way the team will lean. I think Laroche is prepared for it though.

This belongs in the roster thread, but what if LaRoche played 1st against righties with Rendon on 2nd and Zimmerman on 3rd, and Zimmerman played 1st against righties with Rendon on 3rd and Espinosa on 2nd?

Just saying...

When they showed the dugout after the Laroche homer and just now when Roark was relieved I didn't spot Span either time.  A little worried.

Somebody give Michael Taylor a sandwich to eat while he's playing center field.

The Michael Span vigil continues

Yeah you're right about it belonging in another discussion thread. I'm not even worried about next season. I'm more concerned with the now and want to enjoy the current run.
