There is simply no evidence at all that resting players TODAY is the key.  Why not Tuesday or Wednesday?  I have no problem with resting players but there's no reason for these players today is the key.

You would complain no matter when they rested.

False.  Ramos not starting was a given.  I also expected Werth to not start and Harper to start in RF.
