Always Appreciating Asdrubal
« Topic Start: August 20, 2014, 09:14:41 PM »
I was one who thought the Nats shouldn't have given up that young prospect for Asdrubal Cabrera.  But he has hit the ball ever since we got him.  The first couple of weeks, it seemed he was hitting bullets right at opposing fielders.  Recently, he has gotten many hits.

I love his fielding too. From day one. Those double plays lately though!

He is the Kurt Sukuki of 2014.

I liked Kurt a lot, but he didn't hit as well as Cabrera

He is the Kurt Sukuki of 2014.

Perhaps he means the 2014 Kurt Suzuki of this team.

The Suzuki trade had worked out pretty good for us in 2012, no? He hit pretty good that year too. Not so much in 2013.

Dru is just a good solid ballplayer. Does everything well, plays hard, exactly the type of guy you want in a pennant race.

He's definitely a lot better than the last guy named Cabrera who played on this team.

Phil Wood suggested that the Yankees will go after him to replace Jeter at SS next year.

I'll put my flame suit on, but I'd rather he stay than zim, he's untrustworthy unhealthy and frustrating. We couldn't trade him and thus would never happen but Cabrera has been awesome and it means tendon is at 3rd which is also a win

He's the face of the franchise. It'd be like San Diego trading Tony Gwynn.

I can't think of a single GM that would trade for a dead guy.

(Image removed from quote.)

I'm a fan of winning and a fan of the nats, love all the guys but the fact is zim is never healthy. Never. He's my all time favourite nat having been a fan since the dark days, but we have a better guy to play his position now and that's just the truth

Zimm is still considered the face of the franchise. When was the last season, he was the best player or most productive player(non-pitching) for that year?

It just goes to show what have Espinosa in the lineup did to our ability to score runs === screeching halt.  With a guy like Cabrera who is going to give us good AB's, we have the ability to keep the line moving.

Jim Bowden?

Ruben Amaro Jr.

"He had 100 RBIs in his last living season."
"We can use his body for something."

Young Zach is getting some playing time now, and a major league paycheck.  Good for him.

Only 6 hits in 32 PA's but 3 of them longballs.
