Hall of Fame defense doesn't make up for what Espinosa does at the plate.

Despicable at bats by Desmond and Espinosa.  Desmond needs to be able to put that first pitch bely high fastball in play.  Instead he fouls it off, then swings at a ball low and away on the next pitch.  Terrible.  Espinosa just plain sucks.  He cannot make contact.  Ever.  Such a wasted inning.  This team isn't 1/2 as good as they think they are.

How many is that?     One every 4 days?    Lifetime .229 even Maz (17 years) had a lifetime of .260 and he was never thought of as a good hitter.

Yeah I'm sick of that crap. Yet posters will pump their chests whenever he makes a good play at second or when he gets a nice hit.

I bet their crappy ass sub .200 hitters produce a run with a runner in scoring position with 0 outs unlike the Nats.

runner on third with 0 outs and they get nothing.

Danny and Ian are just killing the Nats with their strikeouts piling up and prolonged slumps.
Are they really slumps, or is that what they are?

4th start in a row where Roark "doesn't have his best stuff". Can he dig down and get out of jams or fold over and die?

There's our answer. Backup catcher batting .160 smokes one up the middle. Should have been an easy double play.

that's who they are.  both refuse to cut back on their swings when appropriate and they've been allowed to do so for their entire careers

How can their bums get hits and Espinosa is swinging at wild pitches?
