I was hoping Fister would be close to going the distance, but I guess it's kind of hard with the strikezone today. I hope they don't give Stammen a 3-inning save though.

Werth hurt? Not home but saw Hairston pinch hit for him. Probably his usual dehydration/groin tightness

I like Fister. When he gets a lead he knows the game is over and the other team seems to know it as well.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing going into the 2nd after Rendon's HR.

Why?

Because in case Roark or another starter craps the bed soon, I'd feel better about Stammen going out there than Detwiler. crap, I'd feel better about Jim Lett going out there than Detwiler right now. And if he goes three innings he might not be available for a couple days.

I was just saying that Fister is nothing like Dan Haren.

well, we have monday off, so maybe burn one today, then go with the relay tomorrow with Barrett and Blevins (how'd that work Wednesday), and then have the whole pen for the Philthies?

Actually, after the off day on thursday and the blowout yesterday, you almost need to give storen, clippard and soriano some work today or tomorrow so they stay sharp.   you don't want them to have 5 days at this time of year, right?

Glad to see the Nats hit a bit. Let's see if we can do it tomorrow.
