I'm old school.    I bring her in at night even if lit.    Remember when they'd play "To the Colors" at dusk.    Everybody would stop what they were doin' and salute.   Hell, traffic stopped.

My wife remembers her father stopping the car, and he, her mom and all 4 kids would pile out to pay respects.

Yeah, and elsewhere...

Since he was the cheese at McNair, he likely was still working most of the time anyway...

Stopped at the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial tonight on the way home from the game to pay our respects.  We'd never been before.  It is genius, and well worth a visit if you have not been...

Good idea--have never been there at night.  Great photos!

I like the design.  Power through understatement is a big plus, especially for something like this.

Indeed, and touches like the surrounding wall ranging from 3" to 71" to reflect the ages of the victims adds to the genius...

Went to a firing range yesterday to observe a buddy shoot his AR-15.    What an odd experience that was.    Haven't fired a weapon since late 1971.

BTW  Begged off his offer to fire it.

Going next Saturday to fire the same weapon. But I think I might try it.

As a light infantry guy, I fired all the stuff back in the day ...  M16, LAW, M79, 50 cal, .45, etc.    I told my buddy I'm afraid I'd empty his clip (20 rounds) in like 10 seconds.    :)

Thanks for your service.  I fired all of those as well in basic and rotc advanced training but mostly just the m-16 a1 and a2.

Where did you go?  Was it indoors or outdoors?

Just google'd it...the range itself looks similar to the NRA Range in Fairfax.

My buddy's an NRA member and his son took "lessons" there.   We don't discuss politics.
