Span has an option
I'm aware, but he's not the guy for this team. I'd buy him out and go after a CF who can freaking hit.

Rizzo did that for like three years. We ended up with Nyger Morgan and almost got stuck with BJ Upton.

The only reason for Span to not be the starting CFer is if we find a slugging LFer.

Is Span ever going to bunt again?  Leadoff hitters are supposed to be able to bunt.

The other reason should be that he's not very good at his job. I'd rather have Ankiel out in CF again than Span.

Someone needs to ask Rizzo, "If was known that you had an interest in Span for several years before the trade for him was actually made.  Is the player you have to today the same player you had such interest in for those years?"

And to keep his batting average incredibly low.

Desmond is good for a home run every now and gain..but can't get a hit with runners on!!! This could have been a huge inning!!

Desmond with RISP .286/.354/.429

With nobody on .210/.256/.346

You don't lead a team in RBI by not hitting with RISP...

Baseball players do usually fail at least 60% of the time. Werth of all players being discounted?

good clip  This game lining up exactly like Friday night's. 2 run lead instead of 3 and he gets to face bottom of order.
