So far. He has a 1.000 WHIP which is pretty good, but it's early and he hasn't been in many close situations. I'd love to see league average WHIP for relievers/closers but I can't find it at the second.

I still think he gives up too many baserunners, and it will take a year or more to convince me otherwise. He's done well so far, so hats off to him, but that doesn't mean I have to trust him.

23 straight scoreless innings dood. Buy in

Since we're the only ones awake, that might not be a good idea.

That's like buying in on Espinosa. Are you buying in on him?

I love what he's been doing and Soriano's been doing. I wish for the best, but I don't trust it. I'm not saying cut them, but I'm not saying give them a long leash either.

I'm all in on those two, actually.

Espinosa when healthy is quite good so the calls for Walters confuse me.

And Soriano's stuff has looked good to me the few games I've seen on tv. Can't argue with the results and won't try.

Well, I'm ready to eat crow. I'll save this thread though and be ready to annoy you if you're wrong. Nothing personal of course, just crappy personal snarkiness. :poke:

Hats off to all who waited out this game. I gave up about 11 or 11:30 with the rain still pouring down. Always great to wake up to a win.

I switched over to the Nats radio broadcast after the Wizards coverage was over. Interestingly, it sounded like there were still a fair number of people in the stands for the wee-hours innings.

The moment the rain delay happened they switched the big screen and most TV's to the Wizards game.

Ran into SSB during the rain delay.  Last time I saw him we lunch at gas station tacos in Gaithersburg in 2012 and the Nats immediately took control of the division.  Don't underestimate the power of a humble shoeshine boy.

Ironically, I went to bed, couldn't fall asleep, noticed they were going to play the game, set the DVR up to record, went back to bed, still couldn't fall asleep, started watching it at around 2:30 on the DVR and fell asleep at 4

Was that the Taco Bar at 10003 Fields Rd, Gaithersburg, near the Rio at Washingtonian Center?  That little place is also a beer and wine store, adjacent to the Chevron station convenience store.  They have a big crowd for lunch every day and plenty for dinner.

Indeed, it is.  Incredible tacos, all freshly made salsas for piling on.

Can be a nag to find parking though.

Zimm says the Nats set up a putt-putt course during long rain delays.  It's too bad they don't broadcast the games.
