I don't care if Schafer was halfway home. Throw from Harper would have had him easily if he fielded it.

Mmm. If he had been on second when that bloop was hit, he scores too.
Maybe he wouldn't have gotten a pitch to hit if Blevins wasn't so freaking scared of the runner on 1st!

The pitch wasn't terrible. Just a freaking hard luck blooper.

If Clippard does his job or Matt uses someone else we win this game. Just another colossal freak up vs the Braves.

Well, to be fair, we win if Roark doesn't crap the bed.

The outfielders would hopefully play shallower in that situation, so that bloop hit might not fall in.

At least we didn't lay down. That was a hard fought game. Should be another fun one tomorrow.

Good point.
But if he steals second the OF are not playing deep. The bloop becomes an out.

At least we know we can hit

freaking Harper. Colossal disappointment. Can't wait until he's a Yankee.

You and Spidey jumped on that fast. :) You both know more about baseball than I do. But I just learned another thing.

Hope Werth is okay.

Harper also took a horrible path to the ball. Straight line and an accurate throw and Schafer would have been dead to rights.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Storen should be our setup man.

Storen should close. Blevins/Barrett should be set up(I know they gave up runs today but I still trust them over Soriano/Clippard).

I thought it was a great game. Didn't go our way but competitive all the way. Didn't quit, came back and took the lead. Tyler not cutting it so far this season. Too bad. The team showed heart. Let's play again tomorrow!

Gotta agree with this. It hurts, but at least it was a good game.

Yep, might as well let him walk now.  He's the youngest player in the majors, and he's still got tons of service time left to figure things out.

I don't think there's anyone on the board that didn't see this coming.  Let the sweep commence....just awful.  Barves will be in first place come Sunday.  Games against the Barves are boring, the Nats just can't beat these guys going back to the second half of 2012.

Same crap as last year. We can beat up on bad teams, yet we choke like dogs against legit competition.

freaking hate Atlanta. BS like this ALWAYS goes in their favor against us. It's such trash.
It's a serious problem. Sweeping Florida and New York and losing game after game to Atlanta is exactly what we did last year. 2013 all over again.

This team is nothing until they start beating real teams like Atlanta.

Remains to be seen what we do against philly.
