BIL gets full credit for this one...he stayed home to give us good luck.  He should stay home for the balance of the season...

Didn't post in the game thread either. We'll see how much of a Nats fan he truly is.

And the ONE Braves thread that contains a picture of PUTIN is the one we win.  I'm trying to tell y'all.

Between PUTIN and Angels in the Outfield last night, there was no doubt.   "We had 'em all the way."     I was rebuked  (mlldly ;)) for posting Bob Prince one pitch too early.   The posters were losing the faith.     The faithful must rally for the sweep against the Marlins.     :rites:

Missed the game today, rehearsal duty. Heard the last innings on the radio. Hurray for the win, hurray for the save. Glad the team got one of these games. Check you all next time.

BiL being a superstitious pansy has nothing to do with this win. This was my son's first MLB game, so it was nice to get a win. :)

Nice day at the park, a bit chilly in the shade. I think Soriano's jersey was untucked in under a second, I looked back at him right after the pitch and it was already untucked. :lmao:

If you would have told me we would score 5 runs the entire series, I'd have been pleased to get the one win.

It was nice to get the win, especially with Atlanta starting all their guys trying to get the sweep. (Edit: Oh, I thought they played tomorrow, guess they have an off day also)

I think the teams are pretty evenly matched right now. The Nats have more talent but have some serious issues, both mental and I guess injury wise with Zim.

Before I read these threads or head back up north let me say this: anyone who called game/season/franchise and/ or gave up on this season because the Nats trotted their "c" lineup out against the "a" lineup of the braves should firmly affix those mouth around the tailpipe of a running motor vehicle.

Not quite channeling MDS right there, but you could be his apprentice.

My arsehole clenches so tight when Soriano is on the mound, and tonight was no different.

As you were.

They were calling "game" on the tigers game against the birds.  :stir:

So Hammonds favorite team beat mine.  They weren't going 162-0.

They will win the AL Central again.

A few random thoughts after visiting the park:

1. Why is there a Cal Ripken quote on a plaque in Nats Park?  He is amazing no doubt but if they allowed a spot for all the amazing players to have quotes on their walls there would be no space left.  Just seems odd.

2.  Glanced up at the scoreboard during a LaRoche at bat and his twitter handle starts with E3.  Struck me as odd though he plays a good enough 1B I guess it's not ironic.

3.  Soriano was the only one that untucked.  Unless you include the incredibly obnoxious fans I. Front of me that thought it cool.  One guy actually booed and mocked brave players when they took walks.

4.  The bigger idiots behind me that left middle of the 8th because they could stand the thought of waiting in line at Bluejacket.  I'll be damned if I pay to see the Nats and then leave when it gets down to the wire.

Great day for a ball game, couldn't be happier making the drive down and back.  I wish I had mod powers to permaban some of you nancyboy fair weather fans.

So the :w: is nice, but I am correct in seeing that the only hit after the first inning was Desmond's home run? Offense like that will not win many games.

Maybe instead of people making donations to support WNFF, we should auction off "moderator for a day" privileges.

Given the matchup and lineup I'd give it a pass.

That's nice, but we need funding, we have enough finders already.

ATTENDANCE at this match: 34,327 (82.7% full)

:uk:

Maybe more people would have attended, if the Nationals had not handed away the previous two games to their division rival, the Atlanta Braves.

This game is being repeated on MASN at 11:30 pm tonight.

LaRoche owns a ranch that's called "E3 Ranch".

there's a Joe Dimaggio quote in the tunnel leading from the locker room to the bench.  Great quotes transcend teams. :)
