Best album ever, I'd go with either Zeppelin IV or Houses of the Holy. IV's hard to beat with the "Black Dog"-"Rock and Roll"-Evermore-Stairway opening and the -"Going to California"-"When the Levee Breaks" closing. HotH leads off with the "Song Remains the Same"-"the Rain Song"-"Over the Hills and Far Away" and finishes with the other worldly "No Quarter". Tough choice for me.
As far as Beatles go, I'd say Revolver. I love the album oriented concept of Sgt. Pepper's but song for song, I think Revolver beats it out. There's just too many classics, "Good Day Sunshine", "Eleanor Rigby", "Yellow Submarine", "I Want to Tell You", etc. The only song I'm not infatuated with on the album would be "Love You to", but it's the Beatles so I can't say I don't like it.
EDIT: Sgt Pepper probably would rank at the top of my list but I'm bitter that "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane" were released together before the album and then later got added to Magical Mystery Tour. Add those two songs to Pepper, and take out the weakest, probably "Within You Without You" and it can't be stopped.
