For anyone in the Fredericksburg, VA area - if you haven't tried Spencer Devon Brewing, you might want to check them out. They are downtown.Their beer is phenomenal, and their food is good too. They have a few mainstay brews, but much of what they make is seasonal. I recently had their "Nine Daughters Ale," and it may have been the best beer I have ever tasted. Cheers!
After binging on Longmire on Netflix and watching Walt Longmire drink nothing but Ranier beer I've got to try and find it. Since it's a west coast beer that might be tricky. Road trip!!
ever been to the battlefield country store?
Ales suck. Drink lager or drink nothing. Kidding. I'm looking forward to True Respite's Bobcat "Tmave Pivo" dark Czech-style lager.
I enjoy pretty much any beer that is not an IPA.
I am a big fan of lagers as well. I enjoy pretty much any beer that is not an IPA.
and isn't fruit flavored.
I like both lagers and ales (really enjoy the latter on my annual London trips) but am in total agreement on no fruit flavour. When I was in Riga in 2013 I had a cherry-flavoured brew that was sweeter than most soda pop I've had - put me off fruit beers for good.
If you don't like fruity Belgian krieks, lambics, and sours, I am glad (more for me)
I'm OK with an occasional sour, but I've seen far too many local breweries that seem to have nothing but IPAs and fruit-flavored beer, probably because their brewer has no idea what he's doing.
a good New England IPA is hard for an incompetent brewer to pull off
True, but it seems every new brewery in our area starts with a ton of IPAs until they figure out how to brew other stuff. I'm just not a big fan of them.
it's what people buy. No one is paying $20 for a four pack of pilsner
Black Ox Rye Porter season at CCSP!
Sounds great. Where is it brewed ?
