I remember the Harper that ended 2012 and began 2013. THAT was a star. But ever since running into the wall, he hasn't been the same.

It was symbolic for him and the franchise.

So what. He sucks. Trade him after we trade Strasburg.

#idiotsonthissite

I liken this board to a bar where you go and shoot the bull about sports. So if you don't like the regulars here, then you are free to go to the bar down the street.

Something else to think about...I happen to agree with most of what you say about Sras. But the hostile approach you take makes it hard for me to like anything about your posts.

With that said, I have faith in him. Just gotta give him time. It just sucks watching a guy like Trout just dominate right away. Harper was supposed to be that. I just feel a little robbed. And if Harper was that good, we would easily be the best team in MLB and it wouldn't even be remotely close.

Have faith. He's a streaky hitter and he'll go on a tear soon. It takes time to get your timing back after missing two months in the middle of the season.

If it's a ban you're seeking why not just outright ask for it?  We're happy to comply.  This board was founded as a refuge from obnoxious blowhards, which means we have limits to our patience.

He's 21.
3rd season. With that, you would expect some maturity. Most of us just want him to keep his mouth shut.

Don't you have Strasburg stats to lie about?

He's 21.

He's in his third year, unless him being 21 gives the team an extra couple of arb. years, why should I care how old he is?

If it's a ban you're seeking

Yes, please get him off this forum.

On one of Harper's at bats - I think a fly ball to left - they showed his swing slow motion.  Horrible, flying open, shifting his weight too early - good contact and would have been a homerun with a good swing.  I'm thinking he need to spend time at the tee, with a coach or two.

While I and others appreciate all you and other mods do here, isn't each of us putting Canada on ignore a solution ?

Would he even listen?

Not a good solution because his attitude would set a precedent for others. It's one thing to ignore posters who are irritating but violating the spirit of this board is something else.

Not for mods who should (in theory) be reading everything.  And what about new members or guests to the forum?  Really putting the best face forward.    :smh:

Just watching him when he's up to bat you can tell he's way off. I mean it's one thing to swing and miss, most guys when they swing and miss end up missing by the slimmest of margins. Harper on the other hand misses by a LOT. He looks like a High Schooler trying to hit big league pitching. I'm still high on him, but this is his third year in the majors(second full year)and his development is just a little slow. Yes I know injuries, which is why I think he'll be fine in time, but it is frustrating to watch. I mean when Espinosa left the lineup we thought we plugged all the holes, but Harper is just as bad right now.

He's looked bad before but he always comes out of it.  He will this time too.

You think it'll happen before or after he complains about something else?

I don't expect him to say anything controversial anymore.  I think he learned his lesson.

Wish he'd get his Dad here and let him pitch to him.  That has helped Harper before.

Harper sounded sensible yesterday when asked about being dropped back to 6th in the order. The standard interview line of "I just want to win. My hitting is off. I'll bat wherever and play wherever the manager wants me." (My summary, but pretty close).

Sit him out when we get the DH.  :mg:

In seriousness, he just needs more ABs. He's too talented to not figure it out.

Harper literally hasn't hit a single ball hard/driven a ball since he's come off the DL.

But he's a demon in batting practice.

Put him in CF and bat him 3rd.
