Playing catcher would be a disaster for Harper - too many injuries.  I know he prefers center field but I don't see taking Span away from there.  Zimm will probably go back to 3rd and Harper to left altho Zimm has it much easier on his shoulder playing left.

No way to predict. Rendon has a swollen hand...if the x-rays are accurate, no serious damage but he should sit a few games. By the time Harper is ready, someone else might be hurt. I do like the way Williams has given Desmond and Werth a day off this week. That's one solution to a good problem: having more than enough players who are good enough to start.

We've heard the Xrays are negative line before.

Harper was spotted at the National Zoo yesterday wearing a Cowboys hat.    :spaz:

Somebody tweeted "that's a clown hat, bro".     :hysterical:

Link?

I saw / heard discussion about this on Fox5 news this morning, they had pictures of Harper with the Cowboys had on.  I haven't searched Twitter, frankly am not very adept at doing so.

imagine what a healthy Bryce would mean to this lineup right now, we might score 15-20 a night.

Such an overblown story. Who cares what hat he wears? He plays for the Nats, he's not obligated to be a Redskins fan. As long as he plays well and gives it his all, I don't care who he roots for.

Agre with you. I am an ex Skins fan who likes the Nats. I could not care less if Harper has a suite in the Cowboys stadium.

I'm an ex-skins fan too (which means I don't care about them any more).  But if I still had the passion for the skins that I did in the 70s and 80s, I'd be real pissed.

why, it's not like he's from here, or, for that matter, even chose to come here?

Exactly I'm a Redskins fan as well as a Nats, Caps and Bullets er Wizards fan (Yeah been a while since I was really into Basketball). I've got no problem with him wearing the hat. He IS NOT FROM THE DC AREA (nor Texas for that matter). I don't like the team it represents but since it is not an MLB team cap of a different team and HE is NOT in a MLB stadium or Park it is a Clown Issue Bros.

So is there any chance Harper switches to 2nd base?

Not so much would be made of stories like the Dallas Cowboys hat if he were not at the zoo in the middle of baseball season. He should be on the diamond wearing a nats hat and the story should be about what he did on the baseball field. All these Harper problem stories are simply from him being hurt and not playing baseball during baseball season. I have never been so annoyed with a player, and it has little to do with who he roots for in Autumn.

Why do we root for sports teams?  Different reasons for different people, but in my view it is for purely irrational reasons. When I was 7 I started rooting for the Washington Senators, because I was born in and lived in Washington, I identified with the city, and if the Senators did well it was good for the city.  And the players were my heroes, and I believed that they cared as much about Washington as I did.  That meant that they would want the Redskins to win, for the good of the city. As I said this isn't rational thinking, but rooting for a sports team isn't rational either.

All in favor of players who are on the DL being locked in a dungeon, deprived of food, water, and seeing the light of day say I.

The nerve of some of these guys. If they cannot play baseball right now, they certainly should not be allowed to do anything relaxing or.... gasp.... fun.

so annoying.

I hope Bryce didn't re-injure his thumb petting a camel or something. He has ruined enough of my life as it is...

he's probably getting more cardio walking up and down the hills at the zoo than playing baseball
