FP has played for this franchise more recently than Hershiser  has played for the Dodgers.

He's old, but he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies, not the Athletics. ;)

Where did I say he signed with Oakland?  I said he struggles in the AL.

SARASOTA, Fla. - David Lough is out of the Orioles lineup today after being scratched yesterday with neck stiffness.

Lough had a 3 p.m. doctors appointment yesterday after leaving Fort Myers. I'll pass along an update later.

Alexi Casilla is unavailable today due to a hyperextended left knee. Matt Wieters continues to receive treatment on his right ankle and should play on Monday.

Nick Markakis, who has been bothered by shoulder tendinitis, is the designated hitter today. Nelson Cruz is starting in center field.

For the Orioles
Nick Markakis DH
J.J. Hardy SS
Nelson Cruz CF
Chris Davis 1B
Steve Pearce LF
Delmon Young RF
Jonathan Schoop 2B
Caleb Joseph C
Alex Gonzalez 3B

Chris Tillman RHP

Suk-min Yoon makes his debut today. Zach Britton, Evan Meek, Darren O'Day, Brad Brach and Kelvin De La Cruz also are available to pitch.

Rondon to get ligament replacement surgery.  On his arm.  Looking at him, you had to wonder if that would go first.  I thought maybe whichever hand he holds the fork would be overused.

Cleveland has declined Masterson's extension proposal. He was willing to take fewer years and less money to stay and they said no. Dumbasses.

Clayton Kershaw's next start will be determined by his progress with his throwing during the next week. #Dodgers

I propose that we refer to Frandsen as Turd from this point forward.

I'd like to see what sort of contingencies they put in there for DUIs, jail time, weight . . .

That's double their final offer to Max Scherzer. Gotta believe Scherzer is gonna leave as soon as he can, now.

this might be the greatest thing I've heard of a manager doing
Quote
Terry Francona seems like a pretty rad dude. During Monday's spring training game against the Reds, the Indians manager went to the mound to remove pitcher Blake Wood from the game. At the time, Wood still didn't know whether he had made the roster or not. Francona, however, knew that Wood had made it, so he decided to deliver the good news right there on the mound.
