If they play tonight, sure. They'll be like 5k people there.

Quite a prize, with most of the concession stands closed for the night and one game left in the season.

I died laughing at that. That "prize" just seems insulting to the fans.

I thought I read on here in another thread that MLB made decisions for postponing games in September

Looks like the back edge of the precip should clear the park in the next 15 minutes or so.

EDIT Never mind...just read the other posts.

How is it that the Marlins have released a statement about the postponement but the Nats have said nothing?

According to the #Marlins, this game has been officially postponed and they will play a doubleheader tomorrow. #Nats have said nothing.

Washington Nationals ‏@Nationals 20s
Tonight's game has been postponed due to rain. Game has been rescheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET as part of a split doubleheader tomorrow

they should have made the postponement at 5:00 PM. Pretty dumb.

They still haven't announced this in the stadium, so, if you're here and reading this... GO HOME

What a freak you to the fans who waited out the delay.

There are still a handful of fans sitting in the rain at #Nats Park. Still no announcement on Jumbotron.

:smh: :smh: Why is it the Nats always handle these things so horribly?

That just hurts them even more, playing a game that will end late then having to travel to St. Louis.  They lose the advantage over the Cardinals playing the Sunday night game and having to travel.

So stupid. What exactly were they waiting for if they weren't going to play after the rain stopped?

They should have either postponed it at 5 PM or just waited it out and started at about 11:45 PM. I don't get it.

Lololololol. What a bunch of freaking idiots. What the freak was the point? It's just stopped raining and now they call it? Wtf? I'd say this is deja vu all over again in being reminiscent of Monday, waiting hours to call what should've been a no-brainer, but this?

They should have started playing at 7pm. It was very, very light rain. Could've gone until 8:30 when the downpour began, and, at 7pm, was obvious on radar that they had 90 minutes or so. Start play and pray you get your 5-6 innings in.

But they didn't - okay. Fine. I left at 8:30, because the communication was non-existent. Not so much as a word I saw or heard between 7:10 and when I left. Looking at the radar, I made the call and went home.

Figured it was a no-brainer they'd call the game by 9pm as I looked at the radar just before I left. They didn't - and now it has just finally stopped, and they call it? Give me a freaking break. What the hell was the point of waiting four goddamned hours? Did they want to keep the teams up 'til the wee hours, now having to play a double header tomorrow?

Man, if I'd stayed the four hours and had this happen I'd be livid. Whether the call was from MLB or the Nats, whoever is at fault is utterly retarded and incompetent.

Five hours of concessions sales tonight and a day night double header so they get the full gate.  Old man Lerner never takes his eyes off the prize.

They don't care about the players or the fans, they want the money.
