The Nats are the ones that pissed all over their fans and claimed it was April showers.

+1

Olie for five innings, then a string of bullpen guys. Shut the Braves down. In Washington baseball history, next target is 86 wins: the mark set in 1969 by the first Ted Williams team.

(Sept 18, 1969, Nats lost to Yankees and Mel Stottlemre 4 - 3, although Mike Epstein hit his 28th home run. Senators -- we called them "Senators" or "Nats" -- now at 77 - 74. Washington baseball fans were hoping for a winning season, and, by the way, paid no attention the the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore's team of stars would win the pennant and get wiped out by the Mets, the good-pitching but light-hittinig Mets).

Thank you, I've wondered who that guy was :)

Here's a sound bite that gets "kiss it goodbye" and "we had 'em all the way" in one call.  It was great to grow up in a town with a some championship baseball and good announcers...hope that's starting here!
