Appears Stephen Strasburg has been scratched and Ross Ohlendorf is starting instead.

Friday the 13th indeed. Strasburg scratched. So much for this playoff run.

Hopefully a senior moment for Davey in filling out the lineup card... they'll get it fixed before the game ... right?

remember when he got scratched and Miguel Batista started in his place?

5IP, 3H, 0ER, 1BB, 6K

I'm happy if we get a similar performance today.

Kilgore says he had hamstring tightness after the last start, but isn't aware if that is the issue.

His hamstring was mentioned a couple of starts ago, actually.

Maybe it's Yom Kippur, and he recently converted to Judiasm?

They could also be jiggering the rotation for the playoffs and they only have one off day left.

If he pitched today, he'd pitch the final game of the Braves series, the first game of the Cardinals series and his final start of the regular season would be the second game of the Diamondbacks series.  He couldn't possibly start in the play-in game.

EDIT - His last start would be the final game of the season against the Dbacks.  Starting him tomorrow would line him up to start the play-in game.

I like the way you're thinking.   Don't waste SS on the Phillies.   We can/will beat them.

I think it would be a little early for that kind of thinking...we need to press full throttle until we get there, can't see pushing him out of the Barves series

#Nats Johnson says Strasburg threw in pen yesterday, he had some discomfort, muscular soft tissue, was examined, didn't think it was serious

We don't have time to juggle the rotation for a game we may not get to play in. We have to go now and hope we're in position to skip him on the last day of the season.

Gio would replace him in the Braves series and it would be against Freddy Garcia, who despite beating the Nationals with the Orioles, stinks to high heaven.

i don't imagine they'll start him tomorrow but start him in his normal slot against the Braves to keep everyone on the same routine.

Ohlendorf can win a start against Kendricks.

Starting him tomorrow would give Gio and Jordan an extra day off.  I'm sure they can use it right about now.

Working on a new pitch? Really?

But my plan still works.  Now it's just easier to hide.

The final game of the season is on the 29th.  The Wild Card game is on the 1st.  Pushing him back a few days lines him up for it.

Starting him on his regular next start does not.  We'll see.

Nats reporting forearm tightness, but muscular.
