Solis is breaking bad in the AFL. Maybe he will get a shot sometime next year.

Or somewhere.

Solis will not be traded. The AFL is not enough to dramtically strengthen a prospect's value

He's pitched more in his career than just the AFL.

Not really. If he had spent all season in AA ball, maybe. But right now, he's a prospect with a high ceiling. A chip piece, nothing more

Do have any velocity numbers on him?

Mesa wins again, 3-1. Steven Souza Jr. drives in two, including the winner. Richie Mirowski has another hitless inning in relief.

i really hope Souza gets a chance at camp next year.  I keep saying this, but he's Michael Morse with more speed/range, I saw him play 1st, 3rd, and OF at Potomac.  He's also Morse-like in terms of personality, he was the guy always clowning around during the autograph sessions before the games.

I don't know if he recycles 80's music for his walk-ups though.

Souza I think will be exposed to the Rule 5 draft this year. He's not on the 40 man.  Does NFA Brian have a list of guys who need to be added to the 40 man or be exposed?

I'd expect him to get put on after last season.  I believe there are spots open as well.

Yeah, but what's his velocity like?

He was sitting in the low 90s in his first start. I guess that means he hit 94-95 a couple of times.

Skole with a jack, making it 4-0 for the Mesa Nationals.

Certainly encouraging to see Purke performing so well down there.

Will be interesting to see if they start him in AA in '14 and if he can put himself in the discussion for being a legit prospect again.

No one mentioned today's game, an 11-9 loss.  As I was clicking on the box score link, I was thinking, "please don't let one of our pitchers have been involved in this mess" and none of our pitchers pitched today.

But we did have two position players, Skole was 1 for 2 with 3 walks (yes 3, not a typo) and Nieto was 1 for 3 with 2 walks and neither of them struck out.

I know this is a case of EXTREME small sample size but Nationals players have been the stars of the AFL.

You are undervaluing Albert Almora, Jorge Soler and Kris Bryant.

It's more like Kris Bryant and the Mesa Lackeys.
