Skippy - we all wait in fear, but Soriano looks sharper tonight

Me either, none at all :(

Of course, he can't possibly have a 1-2-3 inning  :?

I think that's my first win since April.  I'll take it.

It looks absolutely empty there tonight.

Got home a few mins ago...no way there were close to 25K in the park.  I'd be surprised if they actually had 20K in actual attendance.

Too bad I missed the GDT, Dr Strangelove is my absolute favorite movie of all time.  Sooo many great lines and inside jokes for those of us who did that for a living.

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 66th win, each season:

2012 - 6th August (109th match of season)
2005 - 24th August (126th match)
2013 - 27th August (131st match)
2011 - 9th September (142nd match)
2007 - 15th September (148th match)
2006 - 19th September (151st match)
2010 - 24th September (154th match)
---
2008 - finished 59-102
2009 - finished 59-103

---

The announced attendance of 24,616 was our third-lowest of the season, just 204 off the season low of 24,412 on Tuesday 9th April (vs White Sox). I wouldn't be surprised to see a record low on Thursday since that goes up against the Redskins.

---

...but will Soriano ever toss a one-two-three inning again? Getting to be just like Cordero in the early days...every ninth inning an adventure.

We really pulled ahead of the 2011 edition when this current stretch began, winning six of our last seven. During a comparable stretch (including wins 63-66) the 2011 edition were in a 4-13 skid, including a 6-match losing streak.

OTOH, the 2005 team piled up its wins early.  They were as high as 6 over on 9/5, 72 - 66, after August.  we need to go 6 -1 over the next 7 to match that record.

yeah the 2005 team dominated before the All-Star break, then gradually declined. If I recall correctly they were 1st in the division going into the break.

Looks like in 2013 we are on track to at least pull out a wining season. 2011 was just one game shy of being @ .500 (with one abandoned rain-postponed not-significant-to-the-playoffs game that was never made up we probably would have won)

That first half of 05 was sick. Livan was amazing. Brad Wilkerson IIRC hit for the cycle. THE CHIEF with his clutch saves(who could forget the escape from bases loaded no out 1-0 win against the Angels). It was obviously a mirage but it was incredible while it lasted.
