Holy crap is Storen ever back. Scoring eleven runs and nearly blowing it in exactly this way, I can imagine how PTSD feels - I was having flashbacks to another Friday night game, played some ten months ago, with Storen again in the 9th.

Thankfully the outcome was different tonight.

Harper banged his right knee.  The left knee is the one that's injured.

I'm hoping this was more of just a bump for Storen.  It looked like he was fighting himself out there, but I was impressed with the pitches to Hosmer, as Hosmer got a great hit on a low fastball that just caught too much plate.  Hosmer elevated a pitch that usually gets ground balls.

I have more confidence in watching Storen pitch than I do with Soriano.

GIO STOREN AND SORIANO HAS A BAD NIGHT.  Difference?  We're paying Soriano 13 mil and Storen about half that!

OK...for the record...

We have a 2 year deal with SorryAno @ $14MM / year, with about $7MM of that per year deferred for a number of years.

We paid Dan Haren $13MM for 2013.

That is all...

Use Cedeno tomorrow. Use Soriano never.

We should have traded Soriano to the A's Not Suzuki. UGH. Soriano is our doom.

When did they get rid of the fountains in the outfield?    Or, are they still there and only turned on between innings?
They got rid of some of them in left when they did a recent renovation.  They're still there in right though.

Awful throw by Maxwell.
Who was the runner that scored on this, Ramos? Royals fan wouldn't shut up about how it was an easy play that he didn't make on throwing out the runner at home. I know it was a slow runner, but it was pretty hilarious to watch them melt down after that monster 2 out rally.

Looks like a nice representation of  :w: fans tonight.
It was pretty solid.  Better than I was expecting.

Fun night all around.  Wish I could have stayed for the whole weekend.  Such is life.

Also, I'm totally done with Soriano.

Didn't spot ya.   There were many Nats' fans behind home and behind our dugout as well.

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 64th win, each season:

2012 - 4th August (107th match of season)
2005 - 18th August (121st match)
2013 - 23rd August (128th match)
2011 - 3rd September (137th match)
2007 - 9th September (143rd match)
2006 - 16th September (148th match)
2010 - 22nd September (152nd match)
---
2008 - finished 59-102
2009 - finished 59-103

---

...well now that was a wild one (joined in just as Gonzalez was being relieved, after getting home from the Mystics*)...at least thank goodness it didn't go extra innings.
