Happy birthday, Dick Hyde, who came out of no-where to star as a relief pitcher in 1958. Truly out of no-where,m because Hyde threw a submarine pitch that started about from his ankle, rose, and snapped. Almost always a curve. I banged a curve into our back fence (chain-link, of course) learning to throw a curve-ball by imitating Hyde. Had a 1.75 ERA, 10 -3, star relief pitcher in the AL.
Had done nothing before 1958; fell to nowhere in 1959; was out of baseball about 1961
