Happy birthday, Dick Hyde, who came out of no-where to star as a relief pitcher in 1958. Truly out of no-where,m because Hyde threw a submarine pitch that started about from his ankle, rose, and snapped. Almost always a curve. I banged a curve into our back fence (chain-link, of course) learning to throw a curve-ball by imitating Hyde. Had a 1.75 ERA, 10 -3, star relief pitcher in the AL.

Had done nothing before 1958; fell to nowhere in 1959; was out of baseball about 1961

Wow, LaRoche. That's a bomb with the roof open there.

That's funny as hell.

Also funny: Carpenter being gun shy about calling home runs ever since he blew that one a few months ago. That ball by LaRoche was way out of the park and he had no idea until it cleared the fence lol.

Looked like someone spilled something in hilarious fashion as well while trying to corral that homer from LaRoche.

I'll do it. I described the process at great length in the Vent thread

Abad will be in to face Gindl/Francisco.

Taylor has to face LuCroy and Gomez.

That's a terrible walk. Need to minimize damage, not add to it.

freaking Gomez can give them the lead with a homer here.

God damn it. Three-run lead and he won't throw strikes. Yank him.

No choice but to let him face Gomez here. And then he'll be pulled. Hopefully he can just get an out here even if one run scores.

That's it. Shaould have been "it" after the double. Jordan is tired. Can't hit those tiny spots.

Could have been worse. Now it's time for Abad vs the LH hitters.
