Yep, about 5 miles north of Cockeysville. I really want Tony Shalhoub to move there.

This quote is from the Post-Gazette, the only real sport's page in Pittsburgh, and KDKA.   May turn out differently but this is the horse my money's on.

"Roughly three months have passed since Burnett, the free-agent right-hander who spent the past two seasons here, told KDKA-FM that he planned to return to the Pirates or retire."

Hold the presses.    MLB-TV is verifying that Burnett will pitch in 2014 (Heyman).    Talking about him now.

When I played lacrosse Cockeysville was one of the teams we played against. An endless amount of amusement for a bunch of 12 year olds

AJ Burnett would be pretty awesome lol.

Baker would be pretty cool too.

I read it. Probably close to 40 years ago.  Only thing I remember is her having sex on a plane with the guy sitting in the next seat, right there in the seat.   Must have been a fairly empty flight.

Stras, Gio, JZ, Fister, Burnett

Soriano, Clippard, Storen, Stammen, Blevins, Detweiler, Ohlie

AAA - Roark, TJ, etc.

Wow. That's depth.

Do it Rizzo.

I'm very curious why the Pirates don't want him.  He want to be there.   Do they know something we don't know?  Is he asking for too much money?  Or are the Pirates reverting back to their old ways?

My guess  ...   the Pirates are always about the money.

The Pirates were a joke for nearly 20 years, then a couple years ago they started on a path towards respectability which culminated in a playoff berth in 2013.   So, is that it?  They declare victory and go back to another 20 years of futility?  Not offering Burnett a qualifying offer seems to be a sign that that's their direction.

And they also haven't gotten a legit first baseman to compete with Gaby Sanchez or a right fielder to compete with Jose Tabata.

i think the idea is that cole pitches an entire season and tallion comes up to compete for the 5th spot. maybe a bounce back season from volquez(doubt it) or a return to pre-all star form from the now 26 year old Jeff Locke. also, i think they are planning on being way better at ss. its not like they are close to sucking, considering all the young talent they have that has yet to really fully blossom.

gregory polanco is one of the top OF prospects in baseball. if tabata sucks, i suspect they bring polanco up.

I guess. I wasn't aware that he had made it to AAA.

Do they plan to play Jordy Mercer regularly (I think he played about half the games at short 2013) or is there something else in the works?
