Nats: RISP: 0 for 9
Tigers: RISP: 8 for 16

Curious: what is the 2012 record with Espinosa and without? I think Espi is a bad hitter, but have a hunch that the team has played worse without him.

35-36 with, 17-19 without.  Not much of an impact one way or the other.  However, Espinosa was a -.6 WAR (only Moore, Tracy and Lombo are worse this year), whereas Rendon is a +.4 WAR (7th best)

Contrary to popular belief, Rendon is not better than Espinosa.

that's true if you exclude hitting from your comparison.

Sucks that this wasn't a four game series, robbed us of a chance to come back and tie these guys and now we don't get another crack at them for three years.

We swept them in May, so we're tied two games a piece
