LaRoche can be the left handed bench bat next year.  His terribleness can replace Tracy's terribleness.

Laroche has been bad.
What's his excuse? He had like one good month. His overall numbers are very underwhelming. Played way over his head last season obviously. We should have known better but it's not like we had better 1B options at the time so we kind of had no choice. It wouldn't be so terrible if his contract was up after this season but we still have another year. :(

Adam LaRoche now in a 3-for-33 slump. Anthony Rendon is in a 3-for-41 slump. #Nats offense is in a season-long slump.

He's right. Don't be surprised when you take on a mistress that your wife will be upset too.

Adam LaRoche and Rafael Soriano on the books for close to $30 Million for the 2014 season. :hang:

The 2012 offseason has doomed us big time. By the time we get out from under these contracts it may be too late.

That only happened at home anyway. She probably threatened litigation if they kept doing that crap.

That report Julie delivered of Davey and player quotes sounded like it was lifted from the SSS playbook.  :poke:

4th walk of game by Verlander in 3+ IP. Nats letting him off the hook like they did with Sanchez. Both pitchers looked awful but we can't do anything.

Suzuki is just as terrible. At least there is one guy that won't be back next season.

Adam LaRoche FTW

can't believe we were actually excited and desperate to bring him back during the offseason. Colossal mistake.

Never understood the obsession with LaRoche. Also, why bother signing a guy to a contract you know he is disappointed he had to settle for? Once they did, Morse was going to get moved, but I wish someone else had signed LaRoche. The fact that the Nats ended up as his best option speaks volumes.

It's a spring training game for the Tigers.   They're working on things.

He sounds like a fan that boos the visiting pitcher for throwing to 1B.

I understand the losing, but for freak's sake, at least the Nats could be entertaining to watch.

True. No one else wanted him. :? :( Now we are stuck.

That is going to be the theme of this offseason. There are only so many moves Rizzo can make because we are stuck with guys like Span, Soriano, LaRoche for another year. We will be looking at 85% of the same team next season including 100% of the same starting lineup.

With the ongoing expansion of inter-league play, NL teams can't afford to not have decent DH options. Having no bench players worth sticking in the middle of the order is a travesty. It's bad enough that Chad Tracy is still on the roster, but the fact that he was DHing yesterday was a joke. Lombo is not a good option to plug in either, but DHing Tracy is like a ST game when the teams play by different rules. He's not better than having the pitcher bat. They have to construct the roster differently to have a platoon bats that make decent options for interleague games.
