The Nats are facing a terrible starter today in Henderson Alvarez. Slowey who is a much better pitcher was supposed to pitch originally.

Alvarez gave up 8 hits and 5 runs vs Atlanta last time out.

Last year the Nats faced him in Toronto pounded him for 9 hits and 4 runs (3 homers).

Well, at least if Harper gets tossed today Desmond can't pull out the #3 hitter card and say that's the main reason we lost

Carp asked Davey about the number 4 and 5 starters.

Davey answered about 4 and 5 hitters.

Senility has set in.

Leadoff hitter grounds out 4-3.  Pretty familiar...

Would've rather seen Werth leadoff again

:lmao: Line drive snagged by the 1B-man. And then Zim smokes one up the middle and it deflects right to the 2B.

Why are the mythical baseball gods so angry at the Nationals? When is the punishment going to end? How many more beatings?

He's not right. Harper will not hit leadoff for an extended period.

The mythical baseball gods function in reverse. The more you believe in them the more they punish you. The Nationals biggest sin against the baseball gods is that their stupid fans believe in them.

No homer today and the streak of hitting one in consecutive series ends, correct?

Correct but that crap is insignificant if you can't make the playoffs.

Adam LaRoche is concerned about losing 17 pounds since spring training.  Perhaps he should see a doctor.

It's not unusual for different players to lose weight during the season

That ball was crushed by Werth.
