Gameday Thread: Nationals @ Braves, Game 3
« Topic Start: July 28, 2005, 11:56:33 AM »

Ryan Drese, RHP (7-9, 5.56)
Nationals (55-46)

Jorge Sosa, RHP (5-1, 2.55)
Braves (57-44)

Game Time 1:05 PM

MLB Scouting Report:
Considering his situation -- dueling with future Hall of Famer Roger Clemens -- manager Frank Robinson didn't think Drese pitched too poorly Friday night. Drese did, however, surrender six runs in 6 1/3 innings in the Astros' 14-1 victory. Drese has lost two straight starts to fall to 3-3 since joining the Nats on June 10.

Sosa goes for his third consecutive win at Turner Field on Thursday. Since the All-Star Break, Sosa has struck out nine and allowed one run in 11 innings. Throughout his career, Washington first baseman Nick Johnson has faced Sosa more than any other National, but is 0-for-7 with two strikeouts against the Braves starter. Thursday's start will be the right-hander's first in his career against Washington.
