I could've sworn you posted Logan's name.

Dukes had baseball talent but there was too much thug in him to stick for long. That's another one though that would've been freaking the side reporters.
True, he was an idiot. However I still remember that walk-off laser he hit against the Cardinals in 2008, one of my favorite games that I've been to.

Where is Dukes now with his "baseball talent".

No way a guy like that lasts long with any group of players.  Albert Belle was the same kind of guy, just better player.  He got run out of the league because he wasn't a good teammate, and he started sucking.   With a cool guy that people like, they are usually given a longer leash, even though they don't perform.

Matchups? Really Bochy???  You could put anybody out there to shut down the Nationals offense.

No, he had issues.

http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/22/elijah-dukes-was-arrested-again/
Yeah, but all of these issues are after he got cut for undisclosed reasons by the Nats. Dukes didn't have one run in with the law while with the Nats. However, he could've been a locker room cancer but I guess we'll never really know why he was let go.

Was that the one where he turned to the umpire and said something to him because he made a bad call before the bomb?

Werths salary isn't hurting the team.  There is no salary cap in baseball.  Lerners are multi billionaires.  Not like Werth is in Oakland taking up 60 percent of the payroll.

...   but he's takin' up to 60% of the non-productivity.

Well it certainly is taking up the RF roster spot for perhaps a more productive player.

A question I've often asked myself.

You guys remember that idiot who posted that the game 4 HR by itself was worth the contract he got?  :lmao:

Yessir!  :az: he went on a tear after that too, until he got hurt...then it was all downhill from there.

Oh, we've got an overabundance of non-productivity.

...and we always have some to spare.

Who exactly is MLB ready that is going to play RF?

And the guy we acquired is doing so very average.

Yeah because they're just gonna spend billions on a baseball team...his salary is going to hurt the team when his body keeps getting more and more fragile over the next 4 years and his yearly salary keeps rising. He's 34 years old and hasn't done jack crap for this team for the money that he's getting paid. Without Werth we could make a play for Giancarlo Stanton or someone better, but no one in baseball will take his contract off our hands so we're stuck with a C+ outfielder making 4x what he should be making.

Do you think Mike Rizzo ever thinks to himself while watching this team, "What have I done..."

Does he have that kind of personal introspection???

Heads should roll after this game.  Duke, Hrod, and Bernandina should all be DFAed

I cant believe Henry still has a roster spot.

Rizzo probably isn't even watching the game.

Let's say we could have free'd up money to pick up a top notch Lefty out of the BP .  Owners still have an idea of what they'd like to spend on their team.  The money isn't limitless w/o a cap.     I like Werth, though...just want him to be healthy.  It's starting to run out on my trust on him, though.   He's a good team leader kind of guy...that's very important in this game.
