At least the Wizards don't have the audacity to instill any hope in me, so I can only be pleasantly surprised by them.

The rest of this city's choking dogs, on the other hand...

Great time for Desmond to not be free swinging until the third pitch

FP what the freak are you talking about

The mediocre Tampa Bay Rays had 6 runs against this guy by this point in the game in his last start.

So far this year it's always 1 step forward and then 2 steps back for this team. When the opener against the Cubs, choke the next two. Win the opener against the Dodgers, lose the next two.

This team has to lead baseball in swings and misses.

Seems to me like Desmond has been whiffing a ton lately.  Kind of annoying.

Espinosa is a waste of time.   I quit on him.

Espy swings at a ball that almost hits him. brilliant.

3 Ks in a row to three veteran hitters.

So...which of the three K's looked worse? LaRoche missed ball four, but Espinosa's swings looked awful.

I'm making a decision to go to bed.  This first 1  1/2 innings was the entire season in a nutshell.  Crap offense, distracted pitching, and stupid defense.  I'm tired of listening to FP and Bob talk about this pitcher as if he is Roger Clemmons.

is that a serious question?  Danny swung at a ball that almost hit him in the face

Does the Mike Rizzo show with Holden and Danny allow call ins? Somebody from this board needs to ask him what the hell is he thinking by not benching Espinosa.

If I was a Padres hitter I literally wouldn't even swing the bat a single time against Gio tonight.

This is on Rizzo.  I've never scouted a baseball player a day in my life and I KNEW that Espinosa would be precisely the player he is right now, TWO YEARS AGO!

...and posted it in these forums many times.

Make him look like an ace

I'm standing by a prediction I made back in Wednesday's GDT:
