He should probably stop giving interviews.

"We have a lot of faith in him," manager Davey Johnson said. "He'll be fine."

Maybe Davey should too, no way he believes that drivel

I don't care what he says to the press, so long as he tells mike that we need to dump this guy and get someone who can keep his ERA under 5

I can handle "we have faith in him" but "he'll be fine" is taking it a bit far to me.

KenzAFan

I miss cranky old Ken.  I was in Montreal a couple of weeks back and if I'd had a few hours to spare I would have looked him up.

Yeah those damn Executives of the Year who take a team from 100 losses to 98 wins over the span of three seasons.  Idiots I tell ya.

Dan Haren.
Yeah those damn #5 starters and their failing.  We have four other pitchers pitching like aces but God damn if we shouldn't fire that GM for that awful #5 guy.

We're paying that number 5 guy more than the other four. Oh and Nats have lost his last seven starts. Interestingly enough, that's how far back from the division we are ...

It isn't a conundrum anymore.  Quick definition of a conundrum is a difficult and confusing problem or question.  This is no longer difficult or confusing, just intolerable.

Of course, as I'm typing this, he racks up his 5h K and is holding the Rox.  Tease, not conundrum.

So the whole point of a one year deal in situations like this, is that if it doesn't work out and you have to cut bait, it's not that big of a deal.

It's pretty clear it's not working out. You can't just be giving away 1 out of 5 games and expect good things to happen.

Its time for him to go to the pen or be waived. He's bringing nothing to the table at this point.

We need to let Ross Ohlendorf pitch until the deadline and if he can't get the job done we need to trade for a guy. We literally cannot afford to let Haren continue to start games for us; I doubt the is any pitcher getting consistent starts that is as bad as Dan Haren.

Statistically, no there is not.  Out of 100 pitchers who qualify Haren ranks 100th in OPS against.
