Harrisburg loses on a walk-off which will result in Game 3.

Potomac sweeps though:

Harrisburg's playoff series is best of 5, so there will be at least 4 games.  There would have been a game 3 no matter what.  Robbie Ray starts game 4 and Blake Treinen will start game 5 if necessary.

Saturday @ Potomac
Sunday @ Potomac
Tuesday @ Salem
Wednesday @ Salem (if needed)
Thursday @ Salem (if needed)

It kind of sucks that they have to play the final three on the road given they had the best record in the league, but the format flip-flops each year between the N & S divisions so next year the N division gets 3 at home.

I'd guess Purke and Rauh would get the first two starts, then Solis/Schwartz/Demny

Potomac loses the opener, Purke gives up 3ER in 5 innings on 6 hits, 2 walks, 4 Ks.

Game two (final home game) is tonight at 6:05 PM.  I won't be able to make it.  Arghh..

Potomac shut out tonight in game 2 of the Mills cup 4-0.  Moneyham gave up 2 runs in 4.0, followed by Demney who gave up 2 in 2.1

They go to Salem for game 3, and if needed, games 4-5.

Went to the game last night--at least innings 3 through 8.  Obviously no offense from the P-Nats.  Most of the hittesr looked overmatched.

Looks like it should be Solis, Schwartz and Purke starting the 3 in Salem so they should have a chance.

Stay away from those $1 hot dogs at the Pfitz.  Even worse then the ones the Lerners peddle at Nats Park.

Potomac swept, Solis gives up 5ER in 3.1 innings.  He's ready to take Haren's spot.

New stadium "should" be nice. Looking at a 2015 Opener there. Still, no shovel in dirt yet...

Hulet at fangraphs profiles 5 players who had not played in the majors before this year:

Rendon (the Graduate) ("among second basemen with more than 350 plate appearances, Rendon finished 19th in WAR and his offensive contributions were below replacement level"),
Karns (the Riser)(with "improved fastball command, he could settle into a No. 3 or 4 starter role — perhaps as early as 2014."),
Skole (the Tumbler) ("He’ll open the 2014 season at the age of 24 with just two games of experience above A-ball thanks to his serious elbow injury"),
Ward (the Draft choice) ("outstanding pro debut at the plate while hitting for average with gap power"), and
Souza (the Sleeper) ("first five pro seasons were nondescript but things began to click in 2012 and his success continued into ’13").

Souza could be interesting next year, he'll give Moore a run for the 1B/LF bench role, and he's more versatile, think a younger Morse who could also play 3B.

Fangraphs says Rendon had a wOBA of. 318. Since. 320 is considered League Average, I find it hard to believe he was below replacement level. This type of interpretive analysis does nothing to promote advanced analytics

wRC+ of 100.  Can't get more average than that, and average > replacement
