You know who I don't see/hear any rumors about...

Edwin Jackson.

Some of the national writers expressed a little surprise that the Nats didn't give Edwin a qualifying offer. Now, It doesn't look like he's getting his long term deal - for the second offseason in a row.

Boras cost him a lot of money last off season

He made decent coin ($11m) last season, you don't think he'll do okay in 2013 too?

Not saying you're guilty of this, but many folks look at TCV without giving credit to the open ended earnings potential of free agents in years not already under contract.

He'll sit in free agency for a while, but after other guys like Sanchez, Dempster, and Lohse sign and the Dickey situation gets sorted out, the teams who missed on the bigger names will take a look at Edwin. He'll end up getting two years or so I'd guess.

I don't see him making that this year and I don't see him getting to $20 million over two years that he'd need to break even

same stats as anibel sanchez, throws more innings, and gets no interest.  You could probably get him for 3/$40M.

The playoffs...pitching against STL. Although I liked his regular season...just could never predict whether he would stun the other team or get stunned.

People hate him because on WNFF when you're off the Nats the cool thing to do is "hate" the former player and claim they were never any good to begin with.

You know that has everything to do with the poster and nothing to do with the site, right?  Please don't make false associations.

Now that Grienke and Shields are gone, I could see the Rangers going after E-Jax. Probably would see a jump in HRA in Rangers Ballpark, but I still see the fit

Edwin's stock took a massive hit during the playoffs this year, I'd think.

The knock on EJax has always seemed to be his inability to win the "big game."

Seems like an average to slightly above starter with an excellent clubhouse demeanor and offensive skills to benefit an NL club.

I don't see how his appearance in the playoffs changed the perception that he was a good regular season pitcher you can't rely on in the playoffs.    what has slowed up a lot of the pitcher moves was waiting for Greinke to sign and waiting to see if the Royals could get a front line starter for Myers.  Now that that has settled, and Dempster rejected the 2 year $25MM from Boston, I think you will see some movement on Jackson.  I would not be shocked if Boston turned around and offer Jackson the same deal they offered Dempster.  He'd be a good fit for them since they don't have to worry about playoff baseball this year.

So beautiful. One of the best ways any story's ever ended.

I wonder if framed prints are for sale.

I always used to read calvin and hobbes with my dad, so I'm pretty biased, but I don't think there is anything remotely comparable to it around

Were you at that playoff game where he took a steaming dump on the mound?

I would love for the Indians to sign Jackson.  He may be no ace, but our staff is rather...um.....not the best.

A) Masterson
2) Jimenez
3) McAllister
4) Jackson
5) Bauer

This will give time for Carlos Carrasco who did fairly decent before he had to get Tommy John surgery a little more time to recover.  When he is ready, we can then ship off Jimenez for more fans.   :mg:

I think someone on MLB on XM said either the Indians or Texas would be a good place for him.
