Looking at that replay. If Desmond had stopped the ball, Espinosa wasn't close to second yet. He wouldn't have had an out there. May have prevented the second run from scoring though.

I saw this coming at 3-0. I did not see this coming at 7-5

Hopefully, this just makes them hungry and they learn from this.

It's a distinct possibility, and that's what I'm hoping for.  Not having that hope right now would really kill any faith I could ever have in this team.

Only thing worse than this is flipping to FX and watching "the happening" with Marky Mark.

8 walks given up by the pitching staff in such a huge game. That's a freaking joke. Why were they nibbling around so much?

I thought we had it when Suzuki drove in the run in the 9th. I felt pretty good at that point.

Davey looks like he's done. Would not be shocked if he stepped down as manager sometime in November.

Why is this team so freaking awful with large leads?

the young guys lose focus is my guess.

When he had Molina down 2-2 in the count I thought he was going to strike him out on a slider on the next pitch. I could feel it coming and then he misses with one low and then the 3-2 one misses too high. And then I felt the same thing with Freese up and Storen proceeds again to not make a pitch after getting 2 strikes. He'll never let that inning down.

it would not bother me at all. He takes part of the blame for this team blowing a 6-0 lead.

Sure. You could see the whole series that the stage was too big for our young club. The whole series, aside from yesterday, was a big chokefest.

Certain players exempted, of course, but the majority of our roster is young. And boy did they play young.

he's just an innocent old man.

EDIT- I apologize for the venting.  I probably am overreacting, but this is killing me.  Just let me vent, please.

One last thought:  it's games like this that make baseball great.  Our side lost, but it was an incredible roller coaster ride that was unpredictable right up to the end.  The clock would have run out on the Cardinals.  Except, there is no clock.  Remember Yogi, and enjoy the excruciating tension all the way.  As a Red Sox fan, it took over 20 years for me to appreciate just how great Game 6 of the 1986 World Series is.  Baseball is one fantastic sport.  Here's to Spring Training.

Totally.  Which is why I'm hoping they learn to nut up after this.

We had what, two position players (LaRoche, Werth) and one pitcher (Jackson) with postseason experience? They'll bounce back. I like the makeup of this team.

This loss sucks, badly. However -- we are the 3rd youngest team in baseball. Next year no limit on Strasburg. Zimmermann another year removed. We will get better. We will be back. And Daniel freaking Descalso can suck on it.

Can we get better bullpen arms in the off season?  No way we stick with these bums next season, especially Storen.

Storen is ruined.  Might as well cut bait now.
