This series is indicative of why the Nats won't win the division this year. Hitting and pitching are anemic right now and the Nationals have been absolutely horrible in 2012.

Bryce Harper says the "sun monster" got the Nats today. Which is a funny line. Werth not in talking mood. "You guys saw the game," he said.

Nats 3-6 over last 9 games. Horrible time to go ice cold.

Braves get Mets/Marlins at home this week. We have to face the Phillies and Cardinals on the road. This could be bad, really bad.

By my count the Nats have only won one game in St. Louis since 2008, so that series is looking pretty bad.  I'll be happy with one win there, but getting swept is quite possible the way the Nats are playing right now.  if the Nats go 1- 2 in Philly and get swept in St. Louis and the Braves go 5-1 against the Marlins and Mets, the Nats either have a one game lead or are tied w/the Braves depending what happens tomorrow.

Anyone who thinks the division race is over is kidding themselves.

Ian Desmond, asked about the sun today, didn't mince words: "It was pretty bright, like usual."

I laughed.

I thought the bullpen/defense/offense were a bigger problem today than Wang.

Missed most of the game today but four innings from our starter was a problem.

Are there any tie breaker tickets left?

Yes, yes there are, plenty off good seats too.  I just bought a pair.  I hope I get a refund rather than having to use them but I've got a bad feeling that we'll be seeing Medlen at Nats Park on Oct. 4.

Of course, your prediction is impossible.

As the Braves and Nats cannot play each other in the play-in game.

Your rationale?

My rationale is a 9-0 lead.

Right, I wrote tie-breaker not play-in.

It's like DC Sun traffic. That damn new glowy orb messed up my vision holes. Get over it jerks, get some shades and some balls.

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Friday 23rd September 2005, a home series against the Mets starts off on the wrong foot with a 5-2 loss, on a Carlos Beltran 3-run homer in the 10th inning...record now 78-76...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250923120.

Oh well, at least we had a decent turn-out yesterday of 33,111...33,111 who disdained the Burgundy-and-Gold Kool-Aid in favour of the Red Refresher*....
