I was going to come in and post some hate for Clippard, but that ground has been covered.

edit to add - I don't get that hate for Davey - our record is what it is in large part thanks to the manager.

His management of the bullpen is terrible and it has been all season.

After tonight next week is looking scary.  The Phillies are still in it and St. Louis is always a house of horrors for the Nats.  Anyone who thinks the division is in the bag is kidding themselves IMO.  I could see this team going 0-6 in Philly and St. Louis while the Braves beat up on the Marlins and Mets at home.

I can't recall ever seeing Davey looking that pissed off when throwing out the hook...dayumn.

Noticed that  ...   no interaction at all.   It was like "Give me the damn ball."

Nats need to win 2 of next 3. And Hopefully Braves lose 1 more to Philly. Magic number would be down to 4.

Its far from over. We cant rely on Braves to lose. We need to win

Did I miss something? Ray Knight seems to be a little drunk lately.

Lol, no it isn't. Managers do very little for their teams during the regular season. Fredi Gonzalez and Dusty Baker have already proven this.

Brewers were 1-55 when trailing after 8 innings in 2012 prior to tonight.

This loss was way more damaging than anyone but me realizes. We aren't winning three against the Brewers and we ARE getting swept at Philly.

A win tonight basically puts the division away. Now we're in real freaking trouble.

Storen needs to close again.

I still think we'll win the division.

There's only one thing: the tomahawk choptards have to win games, something they aren't too keen on doing in late September.

I think we'll still win the division, but we won't be playing beyond early October if we can't win games like that one.

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Wednesday 21st September 2005 saw the Nats lose their fourth straight, 5-1 to the Giants at RFK (including a Barry HR)...record now 77-75...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250921120

---

Mystics lost their home finale yesterday to clinch worst record in the league...and most ping-pong balls for Wednesday's draft lottery.

Perhaps we should start a dead pool for the inevitable day when Hoagie reaches the hour of the wolf over a loss that actually means something. :hang:

Clippard has been way too overworked over the last 5 months. He needs a break and let Storen close for the rest of the regular season.

Where is this overrated talk coming from.

I like how people literally make up fake "facts" about players when they're going bad.

Another thing. Overrated compared to what? What was he being compared to, to be rated, to begin with?

He is what he is. A great relief pitcher.
