To Ian Desmond...

(Feel free to give me any extra computer that you got for your birthday,
since mine broke, limiting my ability to post on here and sing the Nationals' praises.)

ATTENDANCE at this match: 30,359   [...]

...our best-ever attendance at Nats Park for a Dodgers visit [first time over 30k].

Haven't had this much fun at a Nats match since Strasburg's debut.

...and the day before yesterday, the birthday board (normally runs between 4th and 5th innings) recognised the birthdays of Gio Gonzalez and (two days late - we didn't play on the 17th or 18th) Sean Burnett. It looks like this will be a regular (and nice) thing.

This playoff-clinching 91st win pulls us even with another one of Walter Johnson's relatively early teams, and our next win will match the number of wins of our lone World Champion:

99 - 1933 [pennant winner]
96 - 1925 [pennant winner]
94 - 1930
93 - 1932
92 - 1924 [World Series winner], 1931
91 - 1912, 2012
90 - 1913
87 - 1945
86 - 1969

TODAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: A three-match home series against the Giants begins on Tuesday 21st September 2005 with a 4-3 loss, highlighted by Moises Alou's three-run homer in the ninth...record now 77-74...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250920120

What is this even about? Everyone was on their feet in the 9th, everyone knew what it meant.

I think the 8th inning and the top of the ninth the crowd seemed really passive. But they lit up for those last 3 outs.

Did I see Wilson Ramos in the dugout last night? I thought I saw him congratulating Suzuki after the sac fly but that can't be right. He's not in DC these days is he?

EDIT: I was right - just found the highlight on MLB.com.  Very cool that Wilson is here enjoying this.
