Historical note: around 1956, the Nats drew about 750 people to Griffith Stadium for the last game of the season. Cold evening, 20 - 40 games behind the pennant-winning Yankees. I've seen a photo of the crowd. Things have changed.

Jesus Christ.  I read that and realized that through the worst I've ever been through as a Nats fan we NEVER had it that bad.  Scary.

They have no player making over a million dollars.   I would venture a guess we had a higher aaa payroll when lannan was down.
