.256/.281/.316 is nothing to get excited about.
Again, Suzuki has a 38% caught stealing rate this year. What's Flores'?
Why is anyone excited about a .218/.250/.286 hitter?
I predict Suzuki is going to have a big stretch run for the nights. New scenery, new league. He'll be a good frontline catcher. Good, logical pickup from another team salary dumping.
@AdamKilgoreWP Nationals minor league catchers are the new Moneyball.
Has a history with one of the starters. Nothing could be worse than to pick up a guy that pitchers don't like. Look at the mess with the Giants.
Rizz and Billy have quite the bromance going on. Funny, we traded the A's the guy (Norris) who at least partially cost Suzuki his job.
Bad history, or good?
Is it possible to have a bad history with Gio?
Interesting move. Definitely not a cheap pickup since I assume we're taking his entire contract. Probably $8 million or so for the next year plus? So I agree it's probably a backup plan for Ramos if he's not ready.
I still think Shoppach may have been a better choice... but Suzuki being traded to the Nats tells me that they're not certain about Ramos next year... so they want a backup plan in place.Freitas was never going to stick at catcher anyways... so I don't mind the trade.
Davey says he'll bring the veterans presents, or something.
Just throwing this out there, he also presumably has a history with HRod...
