With a cut off of 180 innings, at the rate of four innings per game, Stras will have no problem playing into October.

He is sandbagging. Never try to rob a pitcher of post season glory.

I'm at a family dinner and just stepped outside to check score...

WTF is going on?

The rest of the NL just played rope a dope with Rizzo, letting the Nats think that they could stand pat at the trade deadline before exposing this team.

You should be fired, Rizzo.

The Phillies look like the team in first place. Great pitching, defense, and hustle.

Harper isn't half the player Trout is

I don't want to fire him but he really needs a court jester to tell him when he is full of it.

Thinking along the same lines.   Wisdom is sometime knowing when to shut up.

Our GM just cited wins to judge a pitcher. Nice.

rizzo: hyping up and overvaluing our prospects for proven commodities.  that's a good approach!

Rizzo needs to read my quote.

Just realized that people were saying "don't trade the future" yet Desmond, Espinosa, Zimmerman, Zimmermann, Strasburg, GIO, Harper, Ramos, Lombardozzi, Storen, Clippard, and Moore are all under 30.

Not sure where the un-tradable "future" fits in when the future is already on the field for the foreseeable future.  It's not like we're the Yankees, Red Sox, or Phillies here in terms of age.

At least it wasn't Cheney or GW Bush.   :P    I'm so glad they're freakin' gone.

If I see another Warren G. Harding commercial, I am going to rip my eyes out.

this ump sucks my junk

I haven't been able to see much of the game tonight but note that McLelland is rated as the most accurate umpire, at 89.3% of balls/strikes called correctly, according to Pitch F/X data.

Sad. We dont even have many good prospects compared to other teams. You gotta go for it when you get the chance. No guarantee we will be in this position next year.
