  • We had 'em all the way.
Badlands national park in SD is quite stunning.

True   ....   I enjoyed the side roads and seeing buffalo.    On a Sunday morning, I stopped at Wounded Knee.    Saw "Wild Bill" Hickock's grave in Deadwood.    Since I've been there though, Deadwood has legal gambling.

I drove across in an early January in my '68 Catalina...I was like the only car that made it through the stretch of I-90 that cuts through the Crow Reservation (where they apparently don't treat the roads). Can't beat rear-wheel drive 5000 pound Detroit tanks

You're a brave man.    I made the trip in late summer.

Go to Sturgis

Don't go from August 3-9.    It's a waste of time.

Probably the loudest place on earth during that time.

Loving Avon on the outer banks, great beaches without any crush of people

We'll be nearby in Salvo in a few weeks. Avon is great too.

Is the Crazy Horse monument far enough along to be worth seeing?   Also, how is Little Big Horn?

I was at Crazy Horse in '88 and they gave away pieces of the mountain that had been blown out.   Got it upstairs.

I heard tickets for that battlefield can get very expensive on the resale market.

I know it's hard to pack for cold when you live in Tejas, but the snows usually start around now up in the old country

I booked our London hotel for a week in May, 2016 about 2 months ago.  Glad I did.  Not sure what may be going on in London then, but the rate just went up $500.00/night...

Beware, they may find a way to weasel out of your reservation.

It's with Marriott...never had issues with them before, but then again, I've never had a room rate go up $500.00/night before either...
