My parents went to one of those on their honeymoon and the matador was gored and stomped to death. "Live by the sword" etc
I lived in Madrid for a year in the early 90s and thought 'It would be cool to see a bullfight!' -- Then I learned how bullfights actually play out and I noped the hell out of that. Seeing a Cobra/Mongoose fight in Okinawa several years earlier was enough to make me disgusted by any sport where the goal is the death of an animal and the crowd doesn't care which it is as long as one dies.
