I'd love to hear one of the beat reporters ask Davey if anybody embarrassed by this performance.

Everyone on the coaching staff, except McCatty, and in management, should be embarrassed.  But nothing will change.  I'm really hoping that the ASB marks some changes, starting with Eckstein getting canned.

I can't believe the rest of the division has crap the bed and squandered a chance to put a stranglehold on the division.

How about firing your hitting coach?

These guys fricking suck. Honestly, can't score runs, not pitching all that great. It's freaking frustrating. They'll have this all blown by the AS break if someone doesn't step up. The lineup construction is complete and utter crap at this point. Harper and Zimmerman are no threat, Morse sucks ass.

So the whole team is no good?  That's what your post pretty much says.

But you wanted left-handed hitters didn't you?

I went to bed at 10 PM with a 2-1 lead.   I was disappointed when I heard the results.   We lose 4-2 to the Rockies in CO with our ace against Francis.   The worst part is our pitcher hits better than the other 8 stiffs in the lineup.

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Saturday 25th June 2005 saw the Nats beat the Blue Jays 5-2 for their 12th straight home win - Livan goes to 11-2 - record now 44-30: http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250625120

---

Simply embarrassing last night...thank goodness I've got a Mystics match to attend tonight so at least I'll miss the first part of tonight's promised debacle (Nats' all-time record of 16-34 against the Rockies is their worst against any opponent).

Well, I didn't go back and watch the game, I watched the highlights and I don't need to say how unimpressive the game was.

Our hitting is beyond pathetic

Don't worry...remember we're in the NL's high-rent district...the Braves, Mets and Phillies will drop their wallets on us, Ryan Dempster will end up at the Braves and the wonderful status quo ante will be restored.

Yep, wouldn't surprise me to see the Marlins upgrade as well.  The rest of the division expects the Nats to fall off and it could be a rare chance to steal the NL East.  But with our TV money going to Angelos, revenue sharing coming to an end, and our reluctance to replace OK players with better players we'll stand pat.  2005 the sequel.

When this is the highlight, that's the problem.

Stras had a really good night from a highlight perspective (eight strikeouts and a double).  That's about it though.

To me, the real highlight was the beaning of Scotero.  Strasburg really was upset (I don't blame him) and the game deteriorated after that.  Strasburg does seem to be the best hitter on the team right now.  Our offense is beyond pathetic.  I wonder what our stranded runner category is.  Are we leading all Leaques?
