For those going today: Capital Weather Gang NatCast has 'It doesn't look like a washout by any means, but there could be noticeable rain drops at times. Temperatures are quite comfortable though' with temperatures in the low/mid 70's throughout and 50% chance of rain. Yahoo! Weather only sees 30% chance of rain, with an isolated thunderstorm.

[oh well it's an afternoon match so rain delays are a bit easier to take]

Don't forget: if you're Metro-ing in today, you might want to budget a bit more time getting in, both because of the track-work and because of the Caps playoff match (face-off 12.30) - heading out in a bit myself.

Nats of course, from TBSITH as always - dropped my Caps season ticket last off-season due to ticket prices going up too fast (basically doubled since lock-out) amid a federal pay freeze. Fortunately they do put the hockey scores up every so often at the ballpark when the Caps are involved (normally in the area where the American League scores are posted).

Thought you might take a peek at the Fox Soccer Channel around noonish.

Tempting, but in my scheme of things the match I have a ticket for gets priority - and actually I did get to see Chelsea in person at the Bridge, beating Leicester City in an earlier FA Cup round, when I was vacationing in London back in March. (Be nice if they'd put those scores up on the outfield wall during lulls in play!)

Here's a fun game: if you cover his face from the place where his glasses frames stop downward, he looks like a hipster tool in a Phillies hat!

Heck, cut in between innings. Split the big video board to show the caps and the fa cup.  Enjoy the game.

This will be the invasion game, I think.  If you think you feel raindrops in field level seats, don't look up.  It might be some cheesesteak-eating "lass" in the Gallery level just sweating off some miller lite and shimmying.  What an awful sight.

Johnson’s main concern in the bullpen is getting Sean Burnett into more games. Johnson has ordered Burnett to warm up several times this year without sending him into the game. Burnett has not pitched since April 27, and Johnson blamed himself for mismanaging Burnett.

“I’m usually pretty good about handling my ’pen,” Johnson said. “I haven’t done a very good job with him. We’ve been one hitter away it seems like for a week where I’ve wanted him, and then we got out of it.”

Burnett has appeared in nine of the Nationals’ 26 games. Since he’s warmed up so often, Johnson has avoided using him for fear of over-taxing him. “He’s probably pitched more ‘innings’ than anyone other than the starters,” Johnson said.

Burnett has not publicly complained, but Johnson can sense he’s miffed at the usage. One day this week, Johnson said, he walked into his office with Burnett’s jersey laid across his desk, a bag of sunflower seeds on top.

“I’ve not handled that situation well,” Johnson said.

A LOT of boos as the Nats take the field. Cheers overtook them, but many more boos than yesterday. Guys, remember: No stabbing.

Soon enough, don't worry. Their pitching won't last.

Worley is a stud for some reason, he kind of came out of nowhere last year to put up great numbers.

Shrug. The longer they are keeping the Yankees and Boston frustrated the better. I hate Angelos, but I don't really hate the Os.

TMZ rumors Joe Blanton gave birth to him and he went right into the rotation
